This give-and-take in the selling process has the benefit of having the audience asking questions and allowing the salesperson the opportunity to answer questions and concerns, and to discover the client's needs in more detail. A firm's marketing message is usually planned, positioned, and channeled through established media outlets. If that particular message doesn't resonate with the targeted audience, they haven't motivated their potential client to take any action. Sales on the other hand, can begin with a positioned message, but because of its improvised nature, can be tailored to provide specific information and expertise the client is seeking. Undoubtedly, the advantages of personal selling are its flexibility, abilities to target specific markets and customers, communicate complex information, obtain direct feedback, and master better control of operations.
